hazy sample-based music

Okay, so, I have been basically wearing out my vinyl copies of The Caretaker - Patience, and Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica, and have been playing and Gas - Konigsforst on heavy repeat for the past few months, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for other hazy, immersive, atmospheric, preferably sample based music? Interested in any drone or ambient that has this sort of quality to it, as well.

Got this on tape recently and, in happy accident, on vinyl from Boomkat

I know there's a plethora of tape labels with producers achieving the sound you mention (I'm seeking it out a lot myself lately) and leaving records was one of the first I started following. It was started by MatthewDavid (brainfeeder/dublab artist) and he's released tapes by a bunch of good artists.

Been meaning to pick up this too, completely caught me off-guard (in a good way):

Reminds me a little too of fanfares by Phillip Jeck, I'll have to check this out!

Are you leaning toward more ambient and drone stuff or more beat-driven stuff (like Gas-esque techno, instrumental hip-hop like Clams Casino, post Ninja-Tune stuff that sample a lot of old lounge and exotica music like this guy)?

There's also all the "hauntology" artists (Burial, better artists of the witch-house and chillwave "fads," all the Ghostbox artists, guys like Sun Araw, James Ferraro, and Ariel Pink...)

These last.fm lists look like good starts too:

edit: Janek Schaefer sounds good too!

Music not sample based, but has that hazy, tape quality to it:

http://music.relmicstatute.com/album/untitled

http://ruhe.bandcamp.com (http://boomkat.com/cds/652592-ruhe-easing just came out today)

Stephan Mathieu + Taylor Deupree - Transcriptions

Tu M' - Monochromes Vol. 1

Janek Schaefer - Phoenix & Phaedra Holding Patterns

Kane Ikin - Sublunar

The Humble Bee - all

The Gentleman Losers - all

I've mentioned a few, but look up the Cotton Goods label. Most of the artists there have the sound you're looking for I think.
