Moderat, the Berlin based electronic supergroup formed by Apparat & Modeselektor, happily announce their highly anticipated 2nd studio album „II“ to be released on August 2nd worldwide via Monkeytown Records.



Alongside standard CD and single LP formats (MTR035), Moderat will
release „II“ in an exclusive Deluxe Edition 2xCD and 2xLP vinyl (MTR036)
for fans and collectors. The Monkeytown Records webshop will
exclusively offer a limited edition colour vinyl version of the Deluxe
Edition 2xLP vinyl (MTR036).

We have known each other for 12 years now, and during that time we
haven't really changed that much: We are still three guys mostly

Can't wait for this, I adored the first Moderat album, definitely the sum of the best parts of Modeselektor and Apparat.

I still play 'Out of Sight' regularly.

I'm going on a three week bike ride on August 3rd so I'll miss the London date sadly, but this'll be my touring music. So excited.

I'm moderately excited about this.

I never heard the first album, although I loved Rusty Nails and I do think I'd like the album.

Hard to get excited about something coming out in August thouhg.

Moderat was quite possibly my favourite electronic album of the last decade. Seriously. Saw them live 3 times. Cant wait for this.

really? Rusty nails and beatswaysick were class. As was let your love grow. Vocals very much part of the track makeup.

I think the vocals were good, I quite like Sascha Ring, I just find his Apparat stuff boring for the most part.

Yeah, so far I want to like moderat more than I actually like moderat, maybe this release will change things. Not a huge fan of the vocals either, they're not necessarily bad, just bland and predictable.

Moderat 1 for me had a particularly great beginning (first 3 tracks) and end of the album (Les Grandes Marches through the end), but some mediocre filler in the middle. I always skipped the Paul St Hiliare and Delle vocal tracks, and stuff like Porc 1 & 2 was just alright, nothing special.

The DVD for the release was certainly the highlight for me, those music videos and interludes are absolutely incredible. I hope there is more work with pfandfinderei for Moderat 2!

I was gonna pre-order and then I saw the AUGUST release date. The fuck? Will wait and see now.

Was put back by the release date as well... Too soon to get excited, but I really liked the first album. Saw them live once and it was great but was a bit too drunk to remember any details so hope I get the chance to see them again this time.

Not a huge fan of Sasha's vocals either, but they were a lot better on the Moderat album than on his own work.

Really looking forward to the new album now that the first single has been released.

It leaked. First run through, Bad Kingdom and Let in the Light standout so far. Both vocal tracks too. I can definitely see this as aoty contender. Solid stuff so far.

I ordered the wax because the artwork is pretty cool, the deluxe LP reminiscent of Donkey Rhubarb EP.

Yeah I heard it leaked, think I'll restrain myself until the vinyl and deluxe CD turn up though....

This ones definitely a grower, on the first run through I was kind of disappointed. Now after a second time it's really clicking, especially the vocal tracks.
