Geir Jenssen - Stromboli

New 12" of what I'm assuming is going to be untreated field recordings. Either way, should be interesting.

saw pictures on his facebook page from his trip to the stromboli volcano. apparently the volcano has been in one continuous eruption for the past 2000 years. def curious about this one!

Looking forward to it. Not sure if it is going to be unaltered field recordings, since even Cho Oyu was altered a bit.

Field recordings used to be available on his site (biosphere.no) iirc. Can't find them right now though.

He posted the info on Facebook. I just mean untreated in the sense that its most likely not going to be edited and altered in a musical way, where an example of that would be Chris Watson's El Divisadero.

I think so yes. It's not what you might expect from Biosphere (which is why he released it under a different name), but I think it has a certain atmosphere. The track "Jobo Rabzang - A 6666 Metre Peak In The Cho Oyu Himal" sounds almost like a regular Biosphere track tho. Oh and there are some recordings on there which he sampled for Dropsonde.
