Amplifier question

Hey guys I've got another pair of Aiwa speakers given to me by my dub mate GadManDubs. Now I know what you're thinking but these things are fucking awesome and sound like pro monitors. They output 120w each and have 5 way sound so they have dedicated speakers for all the frequencies. Anyways I'm looking to get an amp for them.

My question is if I buy an Amp with 100w x 2 output and 8-16ohms impedence will that be okay? The speakers are 6ohms impedence.

Maybe you guys can recommend me an amp for about £50-60 as I wanna start using these speakers.

I'd say you could probably get better quality ones for the same price if you lose all that karaoke based crap at the front.

Yeah they sound good. I know what decent speakers sound like and your point Dan?

mainly that the term "5 way sound" is completely meaningless, you seem to be confused as to how speakers work and i sincerely doubt that they sound like professional monitors.

do you know if these speakers let you listen to audio in High Definition?

I guess the point is that pro monitors don't ever have 5 way sound, and wattage is never really part of the important spec.

Real pro monitors are really baseline, and give you a good sense of the source sound with very little influence or coloration, whereas I'm sure a speaker with 5 drivers is going to add a lot of it's own character.

That said, unless you are really mastering your stuff on them who gives a shit. I would just pickup an amp from a second hand shop and be dont with it. :p
