Cannibal Ox launch Kickstarter campaign for follow up to The Cold Vein

Cannibal Ox is launching their own label and have reunited for their long awaited sophomore album. Cannibal Ox has already completed their first leg of their tour and funding will help us with videos, more US and International touring, the label, our spring 2013 single entitled "GOTHAM {OX CITY}" and most importantly the completion of the album. Good to hear they're working on new material, it'll be interesting to see though what comes out of this, especially as El-P will be nowhere to be seen production wise. Here's a link to their Kickstarter.

tbh without el-p producing (and advising), not sure how good this will be. their solo projects have been really underwhelming but i guess i'll wait and see- just not holding my breath for a "proper" followup

I listened to The Cold Vein a lot right after I graduated from high school. Still a good album.
Twelve years later though, I'm sure they'd have changed their approach by now. I guess we'll see what Can-O have in store for us this time.

Listened to "Psalm 82". The prodo is decent, but doesn't have quite the nut of El-P's. Also, Vast Aire has dreads??????...

i don't like it. but i blame all the people making really good music. they've spoilt me

It's not gonna have the same edge with out El-P, but there is potential... we'll see. Meanwhile El's Cancer For Cure is fuckin' solid and the Killer Mike album he produced isn't half bad either. If this ends up being terrible just hop on that instead.

The Cold Vein was a success just because of EL-P. In reality, you have one average MC with a good voice doing the job, and one guy with a shit voice who does not know how to rap (saying this after having seen them live years ago). This is gonna be awful.
