Kibble

This is pure serendipity. I haven't had a piece of music get into my head like this one in a long time and I feel compelled to speak up about it. It's my favorite album of the year so far and I'm not sure why but I'll try to explain why. Despite it just sounding good to my ears, the thing that sticks out at me most is this stream-of-conscious, devil-may-care, organic feel it has to it. It's almost like jazz in the sense that you don't get a feeling that any of it is premeditated, but all the sounds are married perfectly anyway. Jazz mentality channeled through a drone/ambient bedroom recording studio. Listening through it late last night on my headphones I got the feeling that I was in a dreamlike state as each soundscape fed into the next effortlessly but in non sequitur fashion. It's weird, and cool, and awesome. Am I in a guy's room as he's rewinding a tape right now or am I on a distant planet watching a couple of suns set as in the bit around 12:00 in that sounds to me as visually evocative as something on SAWII. It takes you places. It engages you. Headphones. Late at night. Listen to it, it's a work of art.

I went to the bandcamp page but there was no download link/purchase option. The 'RPMchallenge' website linked on the bandcamp does not work.

Hmmm... yeah Bread I guess it's streaming only you just click the play button. Downloading it would be nice, agreed. That way I can have it locally on my phone for when I get sucked into a sinkhole.

I can't deal with the streaming - I need the mp3 to go mobile with the music

Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuke. Hi Luke. Yeah it's Chris you remembered correctly. I will give you more beak. Beak inspired by Kibble. Actually been hitting the studio pretty hard lately. I still wear my Earstroke T weekly. I no longer watch the porn you mailed in a cardboard box to me for Christmas many years ago though.

this Kibble kind of reminded me of Negativeland, which i love. would be interested in hearing more.

this moves into very soft and cuddly places. the fast-forward sounds made me harppy

Kibble was made in February in one big fat creative spurt. I feel like the whole thing explores one idea (i only have one idea a month) so worked as a continuous thread.

Cool. I think you captured lightning in a bottle, definitely don't expect anything this good to come out of you again.

I'll be sure to check this out, the transition at around 3:50 is pleasantly unsettling. Sorry about shitting up the thread with the Jesus, was just surprised to see Fred. wb
