The new "Songs for the Dead House" EP from my good Brightonian friend Pawnsphinx, is now available for download from the Norwegian "Mars Melons" label, in MP3 and lossless FLAC formats. You can download it for free, but please consider donating a little if you like the music.

Three tracks, fifteen wonder filled minutes of chthonic Cthulhuesque IDM. :)

On this release we went for a deliberately dirty, visceral, gritty, blown out, saturated, tapey, tubey, 70's type vibe in the mastering (albeit in a pretty subtle way, and despite the fact that no actual tapes or tubes, or tape or tube emulations, were used). We're both extremely happy with the way this has turned out. I think it makes a nice contrast to all the ultra clean stuff we currently hear a lot of. Pawnsphinx will also be playing on the "Spirit of Gravity" night at the Green Door Store in Brighton on the 4th of April.

Listening to It-Theka now. There's something really lovely about this. I actually like the lack of central melodies, which is rare for me. It's sort of circular and atmospheric. Well-done release (and a nice master, too ).
