Friendly Foil
sorry for pushing you down the page like that. that was rude. I can't comment on any of the technical stuff, but the track is nice. don't know if the distortion is intentional, but it works quite well. sweet vocal sample. Two things though:Clap seems a bit loud to me. I want to turn up the track because of that kewl pad and stuff, but the clap is LOUD. or maybe it's just my headphones. Also, the track is waaaay too short, I think. I really like when you bring in the hihat/cymbal/whatever, but it only goes on for a few seconds before the tracks ends. Of course I can just start the track again, but an extra minute or so would be nice. somewhat minor gripes though. tracks is good. Guest waveformblue
OK...I liked it. The vocal sample loops border on chaos - in a good way. The rhythmic ah-ah-ah-ah-uuuh pad sets up a nice atmosphere. The simple clap-kick reverb rhythm gets the job done. However, the transition at 1:14 feels a bit awkward. Maybe drop the nice rhythmic pad for a measure, then pick it up with the clap-kick beat. Leave the vocal sample going during the pause for tension. Otherwise...just fade out the rhythmic pad a bit more slowly, and perhaps fade the in clap-kick through a slowly-opening filter. A few other things... I would cut ten seconds off the sampled vocals in the beginning and move it to the end. The clap-kick rhythm is a bit loud in the mix for my taste. Not crazy about the subtle distortion that shows up near the middle. I realize that I'm in the minority here. Good stuff, man.
