Pro Tools without an iLock?

So I'm spending today getting all my software and drivers installed on the new laptop, I'm downloading my copy of Pro Tools 8 via the Avid website (yeah I know they're up to 10 now blahblah). I'm mostly downloading it just to get my drivers working for my Mbox interface. However as I'm downloading everything I've come to realize I no longer know where my iLock is (got lost while moving into my current apartment I think). Is this going to be a problem while trying to setup and install? I have the registration number still via the website, that should be enough shouldn't it?

good luck with that. If a reg number was enough I doubt they would use a dongle... A perfect opportunity to ditch protools!

According to the avid forum, v8 and older don't require the iLok - http://duc.avid.com/showpost.php?p=1978222&postcount=4 . So you may well be in luck, though I'd take the info with a pinch of salt.
