My first 80s inspired track since 2011

Decided to teach myself some music theory, so this is my very first real attempt at trying to put to use my knowledge of chords/chord progressions (which I only started learning about yesterday). Critiques welcome. would love to know what everyone thinks.

Oooh...I like this. You capture the 80s zeitgeist nicely, with a slightly modern touch.

I'm really diggin' the subtle warble on the lead synth - reminds me of tape.. The transition starting at 1:24 well done; I love the how the rhythm fades in through a slowly-opening filter.

The only real beef I got is with the kick drum; it's a bit distorted. Was this deliberate? It doesn't fit with the otherwise clean mix.

Conversely...the subtle rat-tat-tat snare-ish rhythm may be just a too subtle. Try bringing up that sound just a bit.

I think that's just how Oberheim DMX kicks are. Or at least that's how the samples I have of it are. I could possibly filter out some of the high end to take away that distortion?
