My dad is believe it or not an electronic head, he introduced his 7-8 year old son to aphex back in the nineties (referring to myself in third-person  ), starting with Come to Daddy ofc. Im trying to convince him to delve deeper into the techres catalogue, ill make sure he will eventually. I do care for him after all..

My mom enjoys Jürgen Paape, she was using my ipod and heard the Kompilation album and she loved it. I dont really want to introduce her to other electronic music, im not that kind of guy.

My mother doesn't like music, period. Makes my mind boggle.

Edit: this doesn't have anything to do with OP's theory, which is false.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

My mother likes BoC but never got into Ae - except maybe a few tracks from Incunabula. My father is more direct, like "what the fuck is this turn this shit off"

There's a rumour the owner of this site is almost 40 and really likes electronic music...

Yes, it can be, what I mean is since 40, the more old is a person, the less chances there are that he likes Autechre. Originally I meant to say only Autechre because it's less accessible than other electronic artists. But if you find a grannie who listens Ryoji Ikeda's Dataplex album, hey, tell me.

Actually shouldn't it be that the older people get the the more likely that person likes Autechre.

It's that bell graphic: people who most listen to Autechre are between 20-40. Older people are not prepared to those "chaotic" sounds, and preadolescents and less kids will listen that.

The first time I heard Aphex Twin was when I was looking through my uncle's CDs when I was 6 or 7. He's over 50 now. It was SAWII, and it didn't occur to me that the music was made with synthesizers. I thought it was recordings that people made when traveling around the world, exploring the insides of caves, pyramids and temples, just holding a microphone in the air and collecting the supernatural noises. Literally.

He also had some Dinosaur Jr. CDs. Bug and Green Mind. Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld. I became obsessed with them. Little kids can be really open minded and have good taste if you give them good music to fuel their imagination with.

That's why i made this thread, to make those people and sons of those people to explain how they got into this music. Sadly, anyone that I know likes any kind of idm or cool electronics, the most far they arrive is Skrillex or Pendulum.

Rulohead is definitely Steinvord. His struggle to express himself in English explains everything

thanx lol. I get good grades at English (9-10/10) but when I write fast and without thinking much I make the most incongruent mistakes.

I'm just trying to point out that since time moves forward, those who are "young" and listening to Autechre now will eventually become the Old.Making your statement moot.
