orban eq trx4

i like this little track a lot... but what is it?

It's from Drukqs Disc 1. And it's based around some mellow hiphop beat. It reminds me of Acrid Avid Jam Shred from ICBYD.

it has beats that are probably heavily processed by an orban equalizer (hear that overdrive from the large amounts of gain)

Yeah the snare in it sounds a lot like the famous Led Zep breakbeat (but probably isn't)... very little manipulation. Awesome little track.

i'd never heard of orban... i googled and found some company that looks like it makes very expensive audio gear, but very expensive audio gear geared towards broadcasting. is that the same orban?

the site was blathering about how they're the industry standard... hmm...

yeah, their equalizers are pretty legendary, there is a 674A for sale on ebay now with a starting bid of 200$ (!!).

It really fits RZA's soundtrack to Jim Jarmusch's 'Ghost Dog'. I always think of that film when hearing orban eq trx4...

agreed, I've always thought this track sounded like it was made in the 'Ventolin era' or 1995 frame of time; maybe it was an older track and just slightly redone.

sounds dubby to me. I also agree about it being similar to the ventolin ep stuff.
