Great flow & voice, Boston represent! I Phantom and the Perceptionists album are pretty decent records that I still play from time to time, plus he slays on most guest appearances (cut chemist, edan, & a bunch of def jux albums), Dunno much about his other stuff but I to would be interested if anyone rates anything in particular .

Guest seasons

I used to be obsessed with this guy until shortly after his second album came out. I don't know what it was, I suddenly went from loving everything he'd did to just feeling really neutral about it. I still think that the Emergency Rations EP is legitimately great and that I, Phantom (which I considered my favorite/#1 album of 2002 for quite a long time) is very good. I got to talk to him once and he was really the nicest guy, too.

Again, I'm still trying to put my finger on exactly what it is about his music that turns me off now. I just thought that his second album, Mo Mega', was lazy and boring compared to I, Phantom. It was just a big let-down for me and bummed me out so much that I think I didn't listen to any hip-hop at until about six months later, or something like that. I lost interest by the time his third album came out (heard a few samples, they weren't good imho). I still hope/believe that he continues working and that he still has the ability to make something as fresh and vital as his early work was once again.

I heard a couple of trax featuring Mr. Lif on some Def Jux comp a long time ago. His voice has a unique buttery texture.

BTW Yek, this is your 666th topic, ennit? :diablo:

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.

This tune is my shit.

Loved it ever since I heard it on Tony Hawk Underground, the whole EP is awesome, the I, Phantom album is great as well. Never really listened to much of his other stuff but those two releases were very solid.

This track he did with DJ Krush is also pretty dope...
