Redruth
"It’s been more than five years since erstwhile Parisienne, now Spanish resident Cécile Schott (aka Colleen) released her last studio album,Les Ondes Silencieuses, the third in a widely acclaimed series of ethereal but compelling instrumental opuses recorded for the Leaf label. Those albums found the versatile composer-performer’s music evolving from sensitively applied ‘organic’ electronica (using discreet sampling, looping, etc…) toward analogue musical arcana (interleaved music boxes, bowed and plucked viola da gamba – the Renaissance period proto-cello – and more). Critics swooned at her compositional ingenuity and melodic ingenuousness, and audiences flocked to Colleen concerts at which, courtesy of dextrously deployed looping pedals, she sat alone on stage, carving arcs of contrapuntal beauty from guitar, viol or woodwinds." "Written, played, produced, recorded and mixed in its entirety by Cécile, The Weighing of the Heartwas nonetheless captured in quotidian circumstances, at home and in a disused olive shop which could only be used very late at night, when the noisy bustle of Spanish life had finally ceased. That intense, solitary, after-hours ambience permeates this inimitably characterful album, lending it a palpable, pin-drop atmosphere that is all its own." colleen http://colleenplays.org/news/ norman http://www.normanrecords.com/records/139755-colleen---the-weighing Edited April 16, 2013 by Redruth Thanks Haha Confused Sad Facepalm Burger Farnsworth Big Brain Like × Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/78331-colleen-the-weighing-of-the-heart/ Share on other sites

Guest bitroast
oh man, ^^. not weak .colleen's music is still lovely^^. also, there's a link to a website that are reprinting her earlier albums as well, if enough orders are made. http://www.beatdelete.com/artists/colleen Leaf have also joined the Beat Delete scheme, which aims at repressing sold out vinyls by crowd-fundraising the pressing costs. Of course you only get charged if the target sum is actually reached. All my first three albums have long been sold out, so if you wish them to see the light again, go here.
