Unless you are making ambient interludes, choons require form and progression and generally to do something, anything.

Maybe take PKD's advice about writing a novel and apply it to choons:

find a choon you love

meticulously chart the details of the choon

the form

how it builds

what is added and what is taken away

stuff like that

Definitely agreeing with limpyloo's advice, and also like the idea of making it slightly more bluesy.

I´m hearing a possible nice heavy but still quite mellow bassline that´s constantly changing as it progresses, possibly building upwards then downwards and aaaaall around.
