I was given a work laptop a while ago and use it much more for leisure than work! After a few data leaks at work they're requesting that everyone gets their laptops encrypted. I don't 'have' to get it done, but if in the rare instance that I was to lose my laptop with sensitive data on it then I'd be screwed.

 

I don't really want to give it to the work IT lads (for several boring reasons)... are there any free and decent ways to encrypt your own laptop? Obviously, I don't want to lose all the stuff I already have on it.

yes. look for tutorials on youtube for your OS. it's super simple. just don't lose your password. :D
