My personal favorite Sending Orbs release, so I'm very excited to get a hold of it for less than 100 USD.

I'm not very fond of the new art, probably just because the original Sending Orbs cover so invited me to the sound when I first heard it.

How has Yagya releases become so damn expensive? How did the Rhythm of Snow remaster sound compared to the original? Was it the usual thing of making it louder?

Wonder if I should flog my Sending Orbs issue of Rigning right now. I'd really like to keep that original artwork. Nah I'll keep. I like the new Subwax art but I wish they had stuck to the original as well. It was just kind of part of the thing.

Rigning is still available on vinyl for a normal price. I don't really understand why people are paying over the odds for the CD.

There is still someone at the helm of Sending Orbs isn't there? I think it is Yagya himself who has commissioned the re-releases elsewhere.

I can answer the first question quite decisively, but the second I would have no truthful answer for.

Damn. Thanks anyway. I do love this album, and if the resolution has significantly improved over my Sending Orbs edition, I'd happily double-dip.

Now that I'm more vinyl-centric, however, the 2xLP edition does have a certain appeal. :)

My copy of the DeepChord redesign turned up over the weekend - it's really nice. Can't say I've heard the original album, but I'd like to, just to hear how significant DC's 'redesign' is. Some joker is already asking £100 for the CD on discogs (limited to 250 copies, supposedly)

Listening to the DeepChord version as I type this. It has recognizable elements from the original, but has that hazy Rod Modell feel to it. I like very much. The original is worth getting as it's also good.

I haven't got my copy from Juno yet but I've got a feeling that a vinyl reissue of it wouldn't be frowned upon by a lot of us, even if we got the CD.
