Surgeon debut monthly show

A warm welcome to Surgeon, as the Birmingham hard-edged techno pioneer will officially be joining the station to host a regular show each month, commencing this week. Anthony Child carved his distinct, misshapen sound, drawing on a palette of sounds heavily inspired by krautrock and industrial music which metallic and abrasive textures help create the framework for his own brand of techno, all showcased in the gritty surfaces, the raw, uncompromising style, and the near gothic atmospheres. Recent years have seen Surgeon back in the game of collaboration. Not only has he reformed the short-lived British Murder Boys project with Karl ‘Regis’ O’Konnor at the end of last year to release a 12″ called ‘Where Pale Limbs Lie’ on Mute offshoot Liberation Technologies, he has also teamed up with Jamie ‘Blawan’ Roberts as Trade, dropping a full-on, aggressive eight-tracker on Works The Long Night. His latest non club-rooted offering on Burlington cassette label NNA Tapes is an epic solo release that delves deep into tonal experimentation.

yeah surgeon is dope as hell, bmb i have to be in the mood for and my favourite track of theres is the one of the guy giving a speech. but i always find surgeon sets are too dark, i get bored of this, its like as if he thinks dance music (in fact im sure lots of people think this about music in general) can only be serious if its dark.

dark is good! Will listen later, great news about this show starting and a good move for rinse imo

i have a set on my ipod "live at glade festival 2006", he plays a lot of afx. it's so good. i always check out his mixes but that one is my favorite. i will check this show.

Yeah he posts the rinse shows on soundcloud regularly - I always check them!
