Same VST. Same settings. Different sound?

So about an hour ago I was pretty bored so I decided to fiddle around with a synth VST. I started out with a pretty basic sound, and then proceeded into some pretty weird and crazy sounds. After a while of knob twiddling I thought it would be cool to try and reverse everything I did and get back to the original basic sound I had. After a few minutes I realized that I couldn't get anywhere near the original sound I had. To try and locate the problem, I made a new track using the same exact VST. I then adjusted all of the settings on the VST (the new one) so that they exactly matched the old one. After playing both of them, they sounded much different. The new track had a basic sound, and the old track had an odd sound with the basic sound in the background. Kinda weird. Does anyone know why this is? Exact same VST and settings, but a different sound. Here's a recording of the newer track and then the older track.

On the original track, I even turned off all the oscillators, and it still is making sound.

What VST is this?

I'm asking because I had the dxi version of synth1 installed for a looong time (don't know why) without realizing it, and it did the exact same thing.

I think Aalto does this, but between different registrations, not different instances of the same registered copy.

That one is pretty glitchy. Stopped using it because of stuff like that.

What would you recommend?

My knowledge on plugins is very limited. Synth1 is good, but it's pretty different from minimogue.

i wouldnt exactly call the second sound weird and crazy, sounds more just like an additional osc one octave up that got stuck on somehow

I wasn't referring to the sound posted when I said weird and crazy. I went from a basic sound (first half of the clip), to weird and crazy sounds, and then back to the beginning again (second half of the clip).
