Too bad the author of this bad joke doesn't know the etymology of "synthesizer patch".

This. Was funny but then I thought about it and didn't laugh any more sad times.

yeah

my understanding is that modulars are like 101's or whatever

where they don't have patch memory

and the 'patch' is just wherever the knobs happen to be set

“I was in the middle of re-patching a sine generator into an analog delay unit, then back into itself, then into the existing patch which was being arpeggiated by my sequencer, when I heard a tree branch coming down in the back yard,”

Explain that to "normal" people

the writer also missed to write the part where the falling piece of tree somehow actually destroys the knobs?

guy hears a tree fall, then runs downstairs. sounds fishy to me.

If a tree falls in a canadian back yard. It doesn't make a stab at a comedy writing by an hack, harbour any greater possibility of being funny. Or something along the lines of what this thread is thinking.

Yep, with that and the three stories I read from the other thread that mentioned the 'hilarious' story of a DJ being murdered for not playing vinyl (that worked on no levels) that place is definitely on my 'not to waste my time visiting' list.

I haven't eaten a Wagon Wheel since 07/11/07... ilovecubus.co.uk - 25ml of mp3 taken twice daily.

It's a shame (and a wonder) they managed to bungle such a fertile idea for a magazine.
