Lake Dolores Event - a proof of concept?

Ok, so this is more of a Twoism thread but I can't be arsed to register over there. But it occurred to me, I wonder if they did this just to see how well it works (how quickly clues are uncovered, how many people show up, is it manageable or not, etc). Would be quite interesting if this was just a test run for something more ambitious (ie., touring).

Ok, pipe dream, but still...would love it if they came out of their shell and did more live stuff again. Their fans are all older now and pretty mellow I'm guessing (and the crazy ones are probably all locked up, heh).

How about a group like BMSR, they tour and do a bunch of hole-in-the-wall places, right? BoC should take a page from their book.

Someone in CHATMM told me they did something similar to the desert listening party as part of a different record release.

I believe it was an earlier release by BoC they were referring to. Sorry about being so ambiguous, but I have no good information other than a random chatmm conversation on 5/27. I think it was along the lines of a private/semi-private listening party for select individuals and/or small amounts of information being given out.

They were telling me there was an informative email sent out for this most recent listening party that read like a Nigerian money scam. I could have been getting trolled.

well Geogaddi had cathedral listening parties. Does that count?

I don't want to see either them or their live performances.

I like the BOC mythos, the years of silence, it elevates them above being TD wannabes.

The biggest thing I'm afraid of is with all this hype, the moment it dies down it will go deadly silent again, and the fans will being whinging again...
