Happy June 9th

June 9th hasn't started too well. Literally worse start to any day ever. I fell asleep at about 2am clutching a 2 litre bottle of milk. Woke up soaked 4 hours later. It's seeped into the goose feather duvet and the mattress. Hopefully others will have a better June 9th.

If it helps, I'll be clearing out the contents of a dusty old shed later. I can think of better ways to be spending my June 9th.

I woke up to find my download of Tomorrow's Harvest.

Today is a good day.

Must have been a big night schlitze, which begs the question why 2am, ya piker.

uh oh. I did that once, on a massive may day bender with some union organiser guys that i met along the way. It was surely in their apartment but where exactly was that out of the dozens of blocks of flats in that part of town. Lost some guitar tunes i was working on, sucked.

This track is very nice.

One of my friend and I's biggest hobbies is to go driving around late at night through the empty roads of Maine listening to electronic music (usually BOC). Anyway this one night two years ago we were driving out in the middle of nowhere listening to BOC Maxima and we get to "June 9th." As the song starts, we start to see this amazing heat lightning from a thinderstorm miles and miles and miles away. I'm not sure why I even notice, but about 4 minutes into the song I look at the clock and the dashboard and realize that it's 12:04 am, meaning the song started at exactly midnight. Then I realized that since we started driving late at night on June 8th....


Anyway that's definately not the best Boards of Canada coincidence story I've ever heard, but I thought I'd share it for the occasion. On a different note, that same friend and I are starting out tonight on a 2-week trip across the entire Trans-Canada Highway to celebrate June 9th/the release of TH/us both graduating college. Maybe I'll film some artsy time-lapse thingy and put it to some TCH song or something lame like that...

Given TH a couple of spins, been to the cinema this morning to watch the new Stone Roses film, did a food shop and will put some food on for when my wife gets back from a friends hen party.

Washed the car and did some general blokey household stuff, ate some nice cake, pledged more money than I should have to a kickstarter, and am planning a drive to the coastline around dusk for some more TH-related good vibes.

Ahhh happy june 9 indeed. The first day of sunshine here in a while, coincidence?...

...probably but oh well, gunna blast my record at home after work
