i really loved all those databending gifs and wanted to see if i could do it - got it working using virtualdub and avidemux

once you know the sequence of steps it's really easy to do. in the breaking bad clip above, there are 3 layers of stuff at one point - it's fun seeing how long you can stretch colour data from an I-frame for
