Chord progressions with synth pads

This kind of synth pad always makes me enjoy a track instantly, even in Snoop Doog's case. Am I the only one who is in love with this very simple synth?

You're definitely not the only one. This simple "trick" works on me every single time, without fail. In music like this every chord change is like floating away on a cloud.
