So, I rediscovered this album today after work, and my GOD, it's fucking EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does any 1's noes about any similar kind of music? I mean, there has to be something leaning towards this particular style somewhere

in this godforsaken world, right?

If you know of anything sounding even remotely similar to it, please do not hesitate!

Last time I checked a lot of people kinda disliked this album, but I agree with you. Haven't listened to it in a long time though, will relisten and see if I can recommend you anything.

It's definitely my favourite mu-ziq album.

It was somewhat based on Melodies From Mars, in as much as Paradinas heard James's happy little ditties and wanted to join in the fun. I agree that it's a nice result too. I've tried to recreate that unashamedly joyful vibe, and hope lots of others do too. There needs to be more music like this!

I heard something about mushrooms but that may just as well be bollocks. Still worth a try though.

Classic record by virtue of the artwork alone.

This music should play in every ice cream parlours everywhere.

I love how that Red Bull Music Academy interviewer asks Mike if he learnt anything from Aphex during the proces of this album, with hopeful eyes of hearing some mythical story about Aphex in the studio, and Mike P. just says '...No. ....well, I liked how he danced'.

And yeah, really fun album and not comparable to their normal output, just fun mocking about.

And for similar music; when I'm in the mood for this album, I'm in the mood for Luke Vibert's music. Not the same but again, fun is the keyword.

Here at the beginning :) he also states about them not speaking during the recording, so it wasn't thát fun to make I suppose, both were probably completely baked.

I believe Aphex mentioned something about acid and vodka being used as the tone setting substances during the recording process.

Come to think of it, some Ceephax Acid Crew has a somewhat similar fun vibe. It doesn't sound the same, but it feels quite similar.

though it's nowhere near as good because ekt is wonderful and if you don't like it then you're either too young, too old, haven't taken enough drugs, don't like music or are a cunt
