Any experts about who know a thing or two about working out how patches were put together? Really want to recreate these on a modular, especially I-74 It could have been Osc sync and FM combined? There was an Alesis Andromeda patch that had Osc Sync with one oscillator 13 semitones above the other. Filter settings probably not a big deal to guess by ear. Probably no filter tracking? Guess it would be easier to work out the patch on a polysynth. And those samples probably are played with an aftertouch and velocity sensitive keyboard. Had a piano patch that was okish but only good for around 1 or 2 octaves below c5, it was a PWM with SUB but the PWM amt rather than speed was adjustable to get a different sound. Are there any good FM piano patches, as in slightly realistic even in a computer gamey way? http://www.synthmania.com/Roland%20MKS-80/ Edited July 18, 2013 by chunky Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/79778-roland-mks-80s-piano-patches/ Share on other sites

ZoeB
Hey, good question! Is there some library software you could import the patches into, to see the settings? Guest chunky
filter cutoff 85 filter env 48 doesnt really mean much the original presets are available online, but what's a good patch manager for windows that's free? if i had the actualy synth loaded with the original presets then it would be put through a spectrum analyser and then i could measure certain things like frequency of osc2 relative to osc 1 and filter cutoff frequency(1000Hz or whatever) could try those audio samples through the analyser, those piano patches are all presets Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/79778-roland-mks-80s-piano-patches/#findComment-2038976 Share on other sites
