when i first got a computer in the late 90's i got an AOL email that said i had subscribed to a porn site and i had a certain amount of time to call a 1-800 number to unsubscribe before they bill me. i was an idiot who didn't understand the internet yet and I had looked at a porn site before so I thought they somehow automatically signed me up for an account or something so i scrounged up my quarters to try and call teh 1800 number and cancel the deal before my parents got billed but it wound up just being a phone sex hot line and I put 2 and 2 together and learned about spam for the first time.
