Cheap audio interfaces

Just got a new laptop with no audio in. Time to get an audio interface. Any recs for relatively cheap but good audio interfaces that "do the job" of recording decently?

I picked up a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for $100 at Guitar Center during a sale about a year back.

less than one hunnid, recording wiv ableton

i've got this, it was the first-best (cheapest) audio interface I could find in the store:

it is not bulky, but light and plasticky, thus pocketable, which is the point.

it works without a hitch. also works with an iPad.

it has a bunch of switches for switching things.

conclusion: good for the price, would buy again when lost and on a shoestring.

Oh nice, exactly what I'm looking for

I just got a Behringer SRC2496 as an extra stereo A/D-D/A converter and say what you will about Behringer but I like the sound of it. It's a 1U rack device and only has XLR inputs for the analogue in though.

Edit: Actually this may be no good if you want to go directly to the laptop - nevermind.. :[

the yamaha audiogram series is quite nice. not super small though..audiogram3

Generally gonna be just recording electribe emx-1/related hardware into ableton

I have a Saffire LE. It's always been pretty great.
