wasn't put on intentionally, maybe the compressor emphasizing the attack transient of the kick? I like kicks to be clear and punchy.

Just listened to it all, very classy cut-up hip-hop instrumentals! If you get an MC on any of these please be sure to post. It goes without saying that a vocal shouldn't simply be slapped on top of an intricately produced instrumental without plenty of dynamic editing and programming to sonically integrate it. Funkstorung were masters of this art.

Thanks dudes, yeah if vocals will be added, I'll put work into it with effects, ad-libbing / chorus over-dubbing, the whole shebang :) .
