Ian Cooper and Paul Hammond released five albums between 1990 and 1998, including the acclaimed 1992 LP Every Man And Woman Is A Star, which was co-released through Rough Trade.

The last of those five records, 1998's A User's Guide, marked the beginning of a hiatus that lasted some 13 years.

The duo returned in 2011 with two comeback EPs—Acid / Butch for WNCL and Find A Way for Real Soon.

This Time Last Year was recorded at the duo's studio near the Essex marshes, and according to a press release it draws on a mixture of "vintage drum machines, analogue synths, textural samples, acoustic recordings, electric bass and heavily treated guitar."

Real Soon will release This Time Last Year on September 30th, 2013.

The samples (listen here) sound as good as A User's Guide.

Has anyone purchased/checked this out?

I'm curious as the mastering engineer we just chose for our new album mixed this record (he mostly masters, but from time to time he'll mix), and from the samples, it sounded very nice....
