audio glitching

i just plugged in my old audio interface and i'm noticing from time to time, actually more often than that, i get this glitchy cutting out of audio like something is loading. it lasts up to 3-4 seconds at times

is it because of my old audio interface: tascam us-122

this isn't happening in a DAW

i'm just listening to itunes

There's been a few complaints online about that model not working too well in 64bit. Is that your OS? Sorry if so!

so is it audio buffering perhaps? try increasing your sound cards latency/buffer settings, disabling unnecessary processes / wifi cards and such sometimes helps. if you find ugly peaks with this, then that's your problem http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml

yeah that's my os. and yeah, doing research i have found lots of people think it's shit, but that's probably because it's old.
