MisterE
i remember reading about the story of how they entered into the arcade market big time with donkey kong, and how it paid off. pretty nuts. like the amount of profit they got from just that ONE game, is unreal. and then to think that they just followed it up with hit after hit after hit after hit. i think those behind the scenes stories from the early 80s era of video games are really interesting. they took a gamble with donkey kong and it paid off HUGE. this guy was like a business genius. well i guess some of it was luck of being in the right place at the right time too. but they made the right decisions with the opportunities they had (although they also had some pretty shady and ruthless business strategies and weren't afraid of litigating the shit out of people), and the rest is history. for anyone who grew up in the 80s and played the games that existed before the NES (atari 2600), it's a lot more of a tangible reality how these guys changed the world. when i was a kid and first saw super mario bros, i think i shat in my pants. Joyrex
He's been retired from Nintendo for some time, so Iwata (the current president) is the one for Nintendo's downward spiral as of late. He'll probably commit seppuku if Nintendo gets near financial ruin.
