it's cheesy for sure, but theres also something i like about it... avicii without a doubt has some very compelling lead melodies in his arsenal that he can just pour out onto to any chord progression it seems. i do like that about avicii. i like the upbeat catchy yet somewhat exotic sounding leads that somehow seem to fit so nicely around his grooves, even if theyre mega cheesy and happy. he has a talent for this. hes able to retain a bit of melancholic vibe as well, which is necessary to be able to be so out front with the cuteness without being over the top. i find this to also be a strength with many scandanavian edm producers/composers. they can make cheesy little melodies sound fucking amazing and gorgeous.

i remember seeing avicii's set live at coachella a few years back, and it was incredibly epic.. totally blew my mind.

fuck avicii this shit is just edm garbage, with some really obnoxious vocals thrown over the top... that "wake me up" track is even worse, i can't stand that one

This is not dark enough for me. It needs some distorted amen breaks and detuned pads. Then perhaps I'd like it
