All analogue too, eh? Like Limpy said though, I'd buy it if I had the scratch.

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.

It's a seriously good clone, and has drastically improved workflow and functionality as I recall.

x0x box is essentially the same and you can get an assembled one for a bit cheaper on ebay - it doesnt have those pretty LEDs or the same kind of enclosure as the 303 though.

A friend brought his Bassbot over the other day, and we compared it to my x0xb0x.

Bassbot to the left, x0x0box to the right:

The Bassbot has a lot more wetness/acid/drippyness/squelch when the resonance is set to full. Also, it almost sounds like there's a slowly falling ramp LFO modulating the squelch on it.

Probably volume vs. production setup, ie overhead.

I heard Cyclone are talking about cloning the 606 as well, but that won't really make any sense unless they end up considerably cheaper than the TT-303. A used original 606 can be had for about half of what the TT303 costs.

The idea would probably be to make a 606 with much better workflow and functionality, in which case having it be more expensive than a real 606 would make plenty fine sense to me.

It sounds 303-er than an actual 303?

Well I mean the tt-303 was actually designed for making acid whereas the original was designed for making like pop demos without a bass player.

Most 303 emulators will always cover an area of the TB's sound pallet with ease but when pushed to extremes the difference is evident like the distinctive high resonance and punchy accent which few, including the TT, really pull off convincingly imho. Workflow wise the it's very superior as you can tweak in the fly.

The only thing I've come across to match the TB303 for dirty, quirky acidic sounds sound is the FR777.

What I've heard of the TT-303, the accent is completely different than on TB-303. I think x0xb0x is much more faithful in sound, but I haven't had the chance to try the TT out myself (but I do own a x0xb0x).

I've always wanted a 303alike. But they are so damn expensive (aside from the x0x) and to be honest, don't have much versitility outside of acid/early techno and house to justify cashing out on. Guess I'll stick with me VST squelchers for now

Fair enough, I don't think there's much wrong with having a unique character on a synth.

Nice, but pricey. Ends up being $883.63 Canadian. You can get the original 606 for cheaper.

This bassbot is the 303 tho. They haven't made a 606 clone yet.

The TT-303 looks epic. I might get 1. All the sound demos i've heard it sounds legit... indistinguishable from a TB in a mix. I imagine the sequencer is a lot of fun also. Only downer is its a bit on the expensive side.. and i'd say its definitely less durable than a TB. The TB's have lasted 30 years afterall
