Guest Zelmo Swift
I saw this guy last night in Chicago, and it was the best show I've seen in years. He has such an electric stage presence. I'm sure it helps that he's a trained dancer. He's one of the few rappers I know of exploring the overlap of new electronic music and rap. His first mixtape DARK YORK is a good place to start for the uninitiated. He has 2 other free "tapes" which are essentially full-length albums, one of which was just released last month. I hope you have sub-woofers. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/80760-le1f/ Share on other sites

His second tape Fly Zone, and his Liquid EP with Boody have a lot higher production value. Pretty sure this guy is taking off into mainstream stardom. He's got that rare combo of charisma and work ethic. Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/80760-le1f/#findComment-2071712 Share on other sites
dr lopez
yeah he is!! very happy more wesleyan peeps are making it big on the scene beyond MGMT and amanda "i'm a complete shit head" palmer really nice guy - went to my school and graduated a few years ago, actually had a javanese gamelan class with him. was nice but came across as too image-obsessed for my tastes - but I guess you need that to be a rapper lol. to the liberal arts crowd, he frames his work as "gay-rap" which of course everyone at wesleyan creams their pants over. not totally sure why... i mean it's novel? the ripped black dude in the "wut" video is a big friend of mine actually. Silent Member
yeah I saw Mykki Blanco live not too long ago with a guy called t.e.a.m.s, it was pretty damn great. I was seriously wasted though, so my chin stroking abilities were disabled.
