RJD2- More Is Than Isn't

hey guys, fyi, new rjd2. just as i kinda gave up on the guy he releases this new album. it has the soul of his early stuff but really i think the styles on this are all over the place, as his previous recordings are.

sounds better than the last 2 which were awful...

he has the dj shadow "curse" of never being able to come close to the genius of his 1st album

I think his 2nd album was actually his best.

Yep.

Since We Last Spoke is in my top 25 favorite albums of all time, easy. I fel like RJD2 has only ever made 1 bad album (The Third Hand) and everything but SWLS has been slightly above average.

Already there man, first 2 albums were great, as was his production on Aceyalone's Magnificent City and Diverse's One AM, but everything since = more shit than isn't

I'm actually surprised that music fans don't part ways with artists more frequently, though I reckon there's a lot of cognitive dissonance at play with renouncing someone whose music you'd once been invested in. Of course dude is free to go ahead and make whatever cheesy hooked faux buttrock he wants, I just have a hard time believing that anyone with a copy of Deadringer would give 2 shits about his more recent stuff
