DMX Krew - Where is a good place to start??

Recommended Posts

The album "Wave Funk" is AWESOME in my opinion. I think that's a decent place to start!

It's ripe with analog synths...

Nah, you're a wee child who can't wait for official release. Embarrassing. Shove your privilege.

My favourites are We Are DMX and Collapse of the Wave Function. We Are DMX is total shameless 80s style synthpop, and Collapse is like a bangin' version of 70s German electronic music.

I am also curious where is a good place to start.

Got hold of most of his albums a while ago but haven't really bothered listening to any cos there's so many

my bad. i haven't been following his new stuff very much.

god damn, this thread has made me want to revisit early DMX Krew. Awesome!

I saw him in '04 and he was excellent. He was singing too. So good.

dmx krew from this year is pretty good too. more acidic than the electro stuff you are seeking though.

DMX Krew is one of the most underrated and consistently high-quality artists around the IDM/Rephlex crowd IMO.

Not to mention, he's a super nice guy, he actually responded to my message on facebook about a production technique on one of his tracks... plus he's awesome enough to put up this site - you can see his studio (circa like 2008?) and he even sampled a ton of his gear for listens and gives a few tips on how he does his music.

Big ups to Ed

Yeah, I had a bunch of email conversations with him in '04; we talked about vocoders and deliberately playing records at the wrong speed. Great guy!
