Audio editors for osx? (not audacity)

I'll probably end up getting Adobe Audition in some big Creative Cloud bundle or whatever, but I'm wondering if there are any other decent editors out there. I'm sick of people recommending Audacity. I'm a Soundforge kinda guy but unfortunately it's Windows only, aww.

naw Soundforge for Mac is a thing!

Would be cool to have other editors aside audacity. So, recommendations anyone?

Pro Tools 9 and up since you can use any audio interface. Though Pro Tools 8 with an Mbox would probably be pretty cheap now.

I used SoundForge a lot, but PT really does blow it away when it comes to editing.

It's way out of my budget but I'd love to use Izotope's RX3 Advanced as an editor - http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/rx/

Ardour looks great, but I already use Reaper for multitrack recording and some midi sequencing, so using it just for editing audio would be a bit strange. I just want a standalone audio editor without the bloat of also being a DAW. Do these just not exist anymore? I just want to master my tracks using VST effects and edit drum/synth samples!

a little program for audio editing i like to use is ocenaudio. pretty sure its mac only but its got all the essentials.

yeah, might look into Peak. Someone else suggested it to me!

installed ocenaudio. Looks pretty simple; just what I'm looking for! I'll give it a try and see if it works for me.

Bias peak is really good

I've been looking for similar for the longest time (essentially trying to recreate my old cool edit workflow) and recently discovered http://www.dsp-quattro.com/dspquattro/Site/DSP-Quattro.html ––– not perfect, but pretty great. Give it a go :)

Amadeus Pro is very good if you have your own plug-ins.
