Dwarf Fortress

Anybody else play this game? I've been getting steadily better over the last year or so, and quite a proper amount of insanity has happened in the meantime. I'd actually go as far as to say that this is hands down the best game I've ever played. The vast array of things to do, the completely exploitable mechanics, the idiosyncratic humor... If you're willing to dedicate an evening or two for learning the basics, you'll get what I mean.

I love ascii based dungeon games - used to play one called Rogue. Never played this though. Looks mad.

i was very addicted to it for about a year, but i haven't touched it in ages. too much of a time sink.

you should give prison architect a go. it's like a more painless DF.

Waaaaay too in depth a simulation for an idiot like me. I love the idea of the game though with how much detail is in every single ascii character - just a little too hardcore for my tastes !

There's a cool documentary about text based games online.
