Anyway to answer your question, i think it could be done both ways - if it's a mini-recorder with a lo-fi sample of a song, then it's not electronic, if it's 1-bit programmed mechanism, then i think it could be regarded as electronic music replica. I think there is a pure electronic music, when it's synthesized from scratch, and not pure, built using electronic devices including synths and samplers. Almost all music this age is electronic to some extent and there is no clear line for definition.

Therefore birds and monkeys in example above aren't playing purely electronic music either. Birds in general are better at music than robots, monkeys and humans
