Shivering Towers

I had one of those rare studio occasions where I managed to get a track completed start to finish in one sitting. Usually I need a couple or more sessions before I get a track sounding the way it's meant to, but yesterday I actually got it right first try. It's one of several ambient pieces I've done this month which will likely be released as a digital album/EP in the near future. Anyway, here it is:

I love stuff like this. Could've been twenty minutes longer and I wouldn't mind.

Thanks, glad to hear it! The first track i did in this vein (which inspired all the others) earlier this month is 14 minutes long, though it consists of three distinct movements. It still drones and evokes a sense of unease at points, but it's counterbalanced by moments of warmth and tranquility. You'd probably dig it.

I like this :) Great atmosphere, but I think it might be a bit too loud and a bit too overcompressed, but I guess that's part of the charm :)

I tried quieter mastering for these ambient pieces as well, but found the listening experience lacked the overwhelming quality that I enjoyed in the louder masters.
