Google has encrypted all searches, and restricted Analytics

I remember in Sept sites saying this was coming, but I guess the NSA scandal sealed the deal with Google.

Erm, I'm an idiot - as an end user is this a good or bad thing ?

it should hopefully help protect our searches, but small website admins like Joyrex depended on analytics to see what was selling, or in our case, how many porn searches were returned from watmm. it's a double edged sword.

It's a good thing but it only prevents man in the middle interceptions, it does not prevent anyone from listening and analyzing on Google's end.
