might be good. trailer is pretty lol though. that noise as it's zooming out from the ape is in every goddamn trailer ever.

Now that the guy who narrated every trailer from the 80's to the early 00's is dead, they have to replace it with something else that's in every trailer (aka Inception bass fart, quick fade to black every three fucking seconds, etc.)

There must be some software where a director can put clips of his movie into it and poop out a trailer and it automatically adds these things.

I didn't mind the first movie, was a reasonable effort. Different director this time around though isn't it as the first guy decided against returning, which may not bode well, we'll see without watching the trailer but instead waiting for the actual film, heh).

I've yet to watch any PotA films aside from the original series from 1968 to 1973 starring Charlton Heston. Am I missing anything?

To keep it real and analog, I'm gonna start posting to WATMM by writing my posts in fountain pen on hemp paper, putting them in bottles, and throwing them into the ocean.

Looking forward to this, seems so long ago i watched Rise of The Planet Of the Apes, I remember being impressed by it but I can't even recall what happened to Franco's character after the carnage on the suspension bridge. Will definitely rewatch it the day before I see this. Falling seamlessly back into the story in this way increased my enjoyment of Insidious 2 enormously. People who go in cold will be instinctively dismissive so it's important to bathe in the backstory.

Just stay far away from the version starring Mark Walberg...

I hate planet of the apes, any version. I pretty much hate any film with animals in it as central characters - free willy, king kong, project x, beethoven, turner & hooch, k-9, babe, mighty joe young....all fucking shit. fuck films with animals in.

but the film doesn't have any animals in it. they're all CGIs

The last film was decent.

But wow, that trailer sucks and does not interest me in any way. And I should be interested because I love the originals and was even relatively happy with the Burton remake.

It's the same ol' prequel problem. It was better as a backstory that is felt and explained by characters that are doing things. I don't need to see apes be revolutionaries.

IF WETA TOUCHES IT IT HAS TO BE GOOD IDGAF.

I liked the first one a lot. You have to be able to delineate between the best possible kind of hollywood movie and an actually good film. I'm not sure how many in the industry respect that line anymore, but you know a REAL film when you see it. That said, I had a pretty emotional connection to Caesar in the first one, and it was pretty awesome when he first talked.

Yeah, it was Andy Serkis playing Caesar if i recall correctly. The CGI was gollumtastic. Just checked imdb, where the hell is Franco?

that guy was awesome. just think about how successful youd be if everywhere you went, that guy's voice introduced you. i think they should retool the software to re-create that guys voice, based on composites of all of his trailer narrations.
