IMC Sun - Catalog

Yeah, so, I just finished scraping together tracks for this EP that I've been meaning to release for the past 4000 years. A lot of rough cuts, stuff I couldn't bring myself to finish for various reasons, but a few gems too imo. Thought I might as well share it.

I haven't given it a full listen yet, BUT, the few tracks I heard I really dug.

1. Mish was a really nice dream wave. could easily fit on my sleeping playlist

2. 24-24-24. wtf this shit is crazy. For the first few minutes it was just blips and pops and digital explosions, then near the end BAMMO. That beat kicks hard my friend. love this track all the way through.

3. S I HLM. Haha. Good one.

4. Alameda was earcandy the whole way through. Seriously great job on this one man. This is fantastic.

I'm definitely giving this a full listen. What I've heard reminds me of the dream structure. There'll be periods of clairty followed by absolute chaotic nonsense, but it's all wrapped up in this nice consistent sonic palette that keeps the whole thing sounding cohesive. The album art accentuates everything too. The only thing I would recommend chopping off would be the 'unfinished' marks you have on the title. Probably just your preference but I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Great job.

Thanks for the listen! I totally was shooting for a strong contrast between digital hell and chaos and dreamy false clarity (kind of like Clarence Park) so I'm glad that came across. The reason these feel unfinished to me is that my beat stutters are pretty messy throughout - I'm doing about 80% of this with a Kaossilator. Thing is a fun piece of gear, no doubt, but it has some very obvious limits that I'm pushing a bit too far.

Anyway, glad you enjoyed it. I'm just happy I got this thing relatively wrapped up and released.
