Hi

I'm very new to the ways of Warp records and have arrived here after hearing (and liking) Autechre's Cichli and Nuane from the Chiastic Slide album. Matt Baber (Antique Seeking Nuns / Sanguine Hum bands) gave me a heads up of artists and CD's I would like. Matt has a solo album out which I feel is probably of great interest to Any Boards Of Canada fans. Also the Nunbient CD/download is superb!

I have no financial interest in this post. Only to spread the word. Cheers! Steve

Here are his recommendations (perhaps you can get a feel of his work from his choices)

Aphex Twin - I Care Because You Do. (The album before Richard D James album, total classic IDM.)
Boards of Canada - Geogaddi (in my all time top 10 of any style...but not everyone's cup of tea. WAY stranger than Campfire and no guitars. I played a track the last time we were in).
Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest (well the one recording thing didn't last long:) This is the new one...lots of old sounding synths, Tangerine Dream esque...very sci-fi film soundtracky).
Autechre - Envane (this is actually an EP but most of their EPs are album length anyway. The really, really difficult Ae stuff is anything released after 2001: Confield, Draft 7:30 etc...go for it if you feel brave, but it's fairly hardcore).
Chris Clark - Empty the Bones of You (somewhere between Aphex and Boards...really good).
Squarepusher - Music is Rotted One Note (he's a great bass player and multi-instrumentalist and sometimes his stuff is closer to Jazz Rock than IDM. Lots of Rhodes piano on this).
Ochre - National Ignition (Eppy got me in to this guy...really melodic well written stuff. One of my fav albums of the last few years, but only available as a download sadly).
The Advisory Circle - As the Crow Flies (from the Ghostbox label, kind of more prog/folk tinged electronica. The whole Ghostbox label is worth exploring).
Jon Hopkins - Insides (a bit more mainstream, but an amazingly well produced album with lots of Boards type stuff, solo piano and big film soundtrack moments)
Oneohtrix Point Never - Rifts (a cheap box set of three albums of which Russian Mind is by far the best...lots of synth loops. Eno meets Klaus Schulze)

If I was introducing someone to Squarepusher, I wouldn't have recommended the start with Music is Rotted One Note. But that's just me.
