Dungen (Swedish Psych-Rock)

I love this band.

We've had a few treads where we've talked about specific releases, but never one just about the band.

I think all of their releases are outstanding.

They haven't really been in the public eye for the past year. I'd love to hear a new LP but there's absolutely no news.

For the record, Tame Impala owes them their career.

IMO Dungen is one of the immortal bands of all time.

BTW, Dungen played a live session on Swedish radio a couple of years back. During the half time break there was a little interview, and Gustav Ejstes was asked to select a track that had influenced him with regards to Dungen. He picked this one, makes sense really:

love 'em. Tame Impala owe them big time, but i'm sure Dungen owe dozens of other bands too... i'm sure anyone with decent psych rock knowledge could enlighten us.

I can't think of one place to point. The answer surely lies in the 60's but I can't think of a predecessor to Dungen's particular vibe.

Awesome band. Played the first album nonstop for months when it came out.

Man when he uses that jazz drummer playing that huge compressed Bonham kit that is just pure magic. He's a decent drummer himself but he should just always use that other dude.

I saw them live a few years ago, and yeah that drummer blew all minds in a ten mile radius.
