p.s. - gets all squiggly and glitchy and yummy toward those breakdowns near the end.. really liking this track. i heard it on the radio a few months back and was like, damn, this is kinda future sh*t in terms of top40 radio

pretty creative/ high production value for a mostly brainless format, no? although it seems glitch/dubstep tropes are flooded everywhere now. but i gotta say theres something a bit more risky in this one than like beebs and flo rida and all those pop stars safely jumping on the electro-house synthpop bnadwagon in a sort of contained way... sounds like this producer loaded up his sampler with like 600 percussion sounds, and had fun, and ran a Jupiter through a bunch of phat gear... either way, still, can't stop "replaying" hahahaha this song :D

but yeah, im gonna go ahead and f'in say it...

parts in this song are VERGING ON IDM, yo!!

2:19- 2:20... How does that sound get made??? that white noisey squelchy bitcrushed but suuuper clean thing. ive heard it before in i think even ae's tracks...

but yeah: 2:18 - 2:46 - major imd eargasmz

Yeah, whoever produced this did a good job. I can dig it. I did something like this a while back, where a label sent me the stems of a pop vocalist and got me to produce a glitchy IDM-ish track around that. It was pretty fun. Sadly the label went under and with it the project for the song I produced.

I'm such a sucker for stuff like this. I can't believe I'm telling you this WATMM, but I'm a genuine fan of Britney Spears' Femme Fatale. It's just so damned catchy.

It's shite, but you're right about the production, and at least it's a little bit different from the usual generic stuff.

Less than a week! I can't listen to this track enough! I wake up in the middle of the night with it in my head. I love Aphex! I'm so excited. I've checked this god-4-saken website everyday for fucking YEARS with NO news and we're so close! Holy Shit! Oh my god! Anybody else feel like this everyday? Can't wait to hear that METZ track in HD glory! My speakers and headphones have no idea what they are about to be put through! Fanboy I am! BRING IT ALREADY!

Quite shit imho, although the sound is crisp, there is at least that.

New izotope thingy breaktweaker is all about this kind of idmz, there are videos of BT doing that kind of effects and practically claiming he invented that sound. So this kind of stuff is gonna be everywhere soon, you`re lucky you like it.

It's genuinely interesting/pleasing sounding, part of the reason I still skim pop stations. It's funny that a lot of top 40 pop and hip-hop is more IDM than indie/underground, which is lately a formula of meticulously recreated retro sounds + pretentious bullshit PR.

We're in a funny time, I bet you there are a plethora of "hip" kids who won't listen to this but then think Chvrches is great. Arbitrary "taste" dictates so much.

I like the beats and verses but I hate these kinds of choruses, give me headaches.

Ayo this is like brostep for soccer moms.

Some songs I made with my fingers and electronics. In the process of making some more. Hopefully.

Most of these are dreadful. Lorde isn't too bad but I wouldn't listen to it myself (my girlfriend likes her).

I liked that Royals song by Lorde, even though it sounds like grimes with all the weird shaved off.

Aside from one other Miguel track and a few other JT tracks, the only pop songs I've dug in recent times. Against all odds, Chris Brown did something worthwhile. Hard for me to admit. These aren't really IDM-like in sound, but the production is great, and the vocal performances and grooves speak for themselves.

That Miguel song is pretty slick.

This song is funny because I liked the remix a lot for well over a year (it was popular among beat music fans) and likewise my wife liked the original, as it is similar to a lot of singers she enjoys. We didn't realized we liked the same song and artist, albeit in different versions, until recently.

meh, doesn't work for me.
