great marketing idea, reminds me of when Banksy & Dangermouse replaced all those Paris Hilton CDs.

And his face on it etc. You can't sell something with another person's likeness on it without compensation. I forget what the charge is but it's actually pretty substantial. If the content or presentation is considered malicious in intent there's always a defamation charge to add to it too.

I still appreciate your original point, it's good marketing. But good marketing is something I hate.

Look at the way rephlex is approaching marketing. They have basically dissolved themselves and the rephlex brand except for weak ties, and are letting the music speak for itself....

Rephlex have completely gone overboard with the "it's all about the music"-concept though. Can't be good for business.

Rephlex don't do any marketing and don't release any music. How is that good?
