Guest brendyman
This is a track I've redone over and over and over again, this being the most recent version of it: http://clyp.it/sb3egb2n And for the hell of it, here's the older versions as well. First version: https://soundcloud.com/brendyman/sketch3_a Second version: https://soundcloud.com/brendyman/sketch11_d-and-sketch3_c#t=3:11 Third version: https://soundcloud.com/brendyman/sketch3_d Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/83372-brendan-rincon-sketch-3_e/ Share on other sites
Brisbot
Yeah, this makes me want to go back and improve my old stuff, which is something I've never really done. The evolution is definitely there, and it gets better everytime. I do like it quite a lot. You also layer samples very well. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it's mostly uplifting and happy. That's a general thing though with all artists though, so it's a taste thing. I've been combing through your stuff and looking for more melancholy stuff, which is an odd thing to say. I would like to hear your take on it. Thanks! Yeah, you should totally try revising old stuff. It's a lot of fun and you'll be surprised with how many new ideas you can incorporate into an old track that's been sitting there for a while. This is actually a really, really awesome criticism that I've never gotten before. I never really thought about it that way. I'm working on an album right now, and I'll probably now try to incorporate some variation in the mood. Guest
happy the peppy, gives me an American teen high school movie vibe, whatever that means lol. Melodically pleasant, thought it was maybe a bit to bright, focused on the higher frequency ranges..i.o.w lacking bass.
