ceiling
Anyone reckon they can decipher the 303 line in Fantasia? I've tried to re create it myself on a 303 but have had no luck, just can't figure out all the notes, slides and accents etc as it's so fast. If anyone can help that would be sweet! I'm fascinated with that acid line and just wanna hear it on my own 303. From the sounds of it, it could be 2 different lines interplaying with each other though I'm not 100% sure. Guest
This is about as best i could do today. Your browser does not support the HTML5 audio tag https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/27366693/fantasia.mp3 i ran it through mixed in key first which told me the key was F# Minor although that's not very reliable and didn't sound right at all. I did this using V-Station with portamento and some detuning. and added the original drum break anyway see what you think, its no way exact but maybe a nice starting point for someone with good ears. Let me know if you want the notes Edited May 23, 2014 by Guest Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/83499-303-tab-for-fantasia/#findComment-2166945 Share on other sites

ceiling
I think xxx is probably right about it being on a 202, just wish I had one. Love your attempt at recreating it man, comes super close!! Yeah if you wouldn't mind sending me the notes, I'd love to give it a try. Also are you saying the basslines were sampled? Guest
Hey, cheers for coming back to me. ok so these are the notes i used the number beside each is the octave G#3 G#2 A2 G#1 G#2 G#1 G#2 G#1 A#3 G#2 A2 A1 A2 A1 G#3 G#1 G#3 G#2 G#1 A4 A1 A2 A1 A2 G#3 G#2 B1 B3 A2 G#2 E#1 E#1 each note is a 16th of a bar so should ultimately fit to 2 bars. i left the gaps to help make it easy to follow a bit as i was getting proper lost i have got a 202 but haven't got round to trying it on it yet. you'll need portomento i reckon, rather than the accent/slide of a 303 please let me know how you get on, would be great to crack it and hear yours :) regarding the other note about basslines, no those are just 2 other tunes i wish i could work out the notes for... have tried a lot but so far not even close really Quote Link to comment https://forum.watmm.com/topic/83499-303-tab-for-fantasia/#findComment-2167556 Share on other sites
